Sue Madej

2024 MWGA HOF Profile

Suzanne Madej is a stalwart presence within the Michigan Women's Golf Association (MWGA) whose enduring commitment and multifaceted contributions have significantly enriched the organization's mission and operations. With a tenure marked by dedication and service, Sue has played integral roles across various committees leaving an indelible imprint on the MWGA's legacy.

As a longstanding member of the MWGA, Sue has exemplified unwavering dedication to the association's goals, utilizing her expertise and passion for sport to drive positive change and advancement. Her tireless efforts on the publicity committee have helped elevate the MWGA's visibility and reach, ensuring that its events and initiatives receive the attention they deserve within the golfing community and beyond.

She has served on the MWGA board for approximately 15 years, in positions of

Publicity for two years, Rules for one year, and the remaining years as Handicap Director. She has also served on the Board of the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association since 2004 as Handicap Director and Rules committee member, in addition to building and maintaining a web site for the organization.

 

Sue attended USGA/PGA rules school twice, achieving advanced certification in 2019. Awards include:

  • 4 GAM Senior Mid Ams

  • 2 GAM Senior Amateurs

  • 2 GAM Women’s Senior Championships,

  • 4 GAM Senior 4 Ball Championships with golf partner Terry MacPherson.

  • 2012 Mesquite Amateur Overall Championship (704 players)

 

Sue’s focus has been keeping the game fair by ensuring golfers have an accurate handicap for events as well as making sure the rules of the game are followed, making the game fun and fair for all.
