JANINA JACOBS

Janina Jacobs is an accomplished golfer, former TV host, a writer, a tireless worker in promoting golf courses, events, organizations, and a business woman and a professional musician. She played on her High School Boys Golf Team and won a scholarship and played on the Wayne State University (WSU) Men’s Golf Team. In 2000, she was inducted into the WSU Hall of Fame. She has been a member and advisor to the MWGA for many years.

# In the Michigan Women’s Amateur Championship, she was Medalist in 1991 and Runner-up in 1978 and 1993

CYNTHIA PINKARD

Cynthia Pinkard is an avid golfer and has given back to the game of golf with a tremendous amount of time, effort and talent. She has been a member or advisor of the MWGA Board of Directors for 22 years and is currently the Technology Director and Webmaster and a key player in the operations and administration of all MWGA Competitions.  She has been Captain of the Atlas Cup Public Team since 2006. She has been a Governor of the GAM since 2001 and serves on the membership, handicap, technologies and competitions committees. She was made a GAM  Honorary Governor in 2016.

BETTY RICHART

Betty Richart grew up on a golf course in New Jersey and played on the Boys High School Team for 4 years in 1938 – 1941. She played in several Open events where Patty Berg, Babe Zaharias and Louise Suggs were featured players. She has won regional, city and club championships in 6 states. She has contributed to golf at the highest levels nationally and internationally. She served on the USGA Women’s Committee for 17 years, the last 3 years as chairperson and during that time chaired the US Women’s Open at Indianwood G &CC. She later hosted the US Women’s Amateur and the US Women’s Mid-Amateur Championships at her club, Barton Hills CC. She received the GAM Distinguished Service Award in 1992 and was inducted into the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame in 2002. She has been a mentor and advisor to most women’s golf leaders in Michigan. In 2014, the MWGA selected her as one of three women to honor at the MWGA Legacy Celebration.
